Going to SCAD really helped me prepare for the fast-paced, collaborative and demanding work atmosphere of game design.

Established in 1978 in the picturesque, historic city of Savannah, Georgia, USA, SCAD — the Savannah College of Art and Design — was founded to create a specialized professional arts university, providing both an excellent education and a pathway to achieving rewarding, successful careers in art and design.

Demand for SCAD’s unique and effective approach to developing creative talent has led to rapid growth and expansion. Today there are locations in the U.S., Europe and Asia, as well as online learning opportunities, to serve the needs of students from diverse cultural backgrounds.

In September 2010, SCAD Hong Kong opened its doors in the former North Kowloon Magistracy in the bustling Sham Shui Po district. For its extensive rehabilitation and careful conservation of this majestic site, the university earned an Honorable Mention in the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Culture Heritage Conservation in 2011.

SCAD Hong Kong offers one of the largest concentrations of art and design degree programs in the city, providing students the opportunity to study and grow in Asia — the economic engine of the world and home to a thriving, dynamic creative scene where talent has never been more in demand.

At SCAD Hong Kong, and at each of its locations around the world, the university nurtures and cultivates the unique qualities of each student through an engaging curriculum, in state-of-the-art facilities, under the leadership of passionate professors.

The Savannah College of Art and Design exists to prepare talented students for professional careers, emphasizing learning through individual attention in a positively oriented university environment.

SCAD in Sham Shui Po

SCAD Hong Kong is located in Sham Shui Po, a district characterized by a mix of residential buildings with government, institutional and community facilities.

Within walking distance is the iconic Dragon Centre shopping mall.  Also close-by are hundreds of shops and restaurants, and street markets which offer inexpensive electronics and computer equipment, garment construction items, office supplies, flowers and miscellaneous products.  A historical point of interest in the district is the Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb Museum, an ancient brick tomb built during the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 25-220).

SCAD revitalized the historic North Kowloon Magistracy building, a former courthouse, into the leading site for the study of art and design in Asia, while honoring the structure’s historic and cultural significance.
